3 Good Things I Learnt from the Devil

They used to say that every dark cloud has a silver lining. And even the devil has some good qualities we need to emulate and put into practice.

I know that you are really curious to know what I learnt from the devil right?

Anyway, I’m not kidding, I learnt 3 good things from the devil. And just before I share them, I would like to tell you briefly what led me to this discovery.

I watched a movie (can’t remember the name) sometime in January about a certain Chinese warlord who went about conquering all the lands, he left blood, tears and terror every where he went.

He trained his son to take after him and the son was even worse than him. Now he gave about 10,000 men to his son and sent him to other parts to conquer more lands.

The son came to a particular village and on arriving disguised as a civilian and murdered 3 people. The guardians of the town acquitted him for murder and sentenced him to death by hanging.

Few minutes after his trial, the villagers learnt he was the son of the warlord, the villagers decided to release him out of fear.

To their utmost surprise, the chief guardian of the village refused to let him go, and insisted that he must be hanged.

To cut the long story short, he was released and after his release, he entered the village with his ten thousand men and killed half of the villagers.

However, the chief guardian whose loyal subjects has left the village before this happened, came back in disguise and killed the army by poisoning their foods and destroying their armory.

After watching that movie, I was so annoyed at the people, and asked myself some questions like:

  • Why are we re-active?
  • Must evil rule and ruin the land before the good arises?
  • Why can’t the good guy be the boss and the bad guy always flee?

So, I decided, that if I want to defeat the devil, I must learn from him and use his strategy to conquer him and rise to the top.

So after careful analysis, I learnt 3 things from the devil here they are:

3 Good Things I learnt from the Devil

1. Always be searching and creating opportunities

This is the first thing I learnt from the devil. He is never “waiting for” the opportunity. He is constantly searching and creating opportunities.

In the days of Job, “he was patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.” to know those he is going to devour. Little wonder St. Peter warned us in 1 Peter 5:8

“Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour.”

He has not stopped searching, but he has now added a new strategy of creating opportunities. This is why St. Paul told us in his letter to the 2 Corinthians 2:11;

so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.”

When I discovered this, i decided to always look for opportunities and create opportunities to do good. If the devil can be on the lookout for opportunities to bring me down, I need to also look for more opportunities to bring him down too and make him scared of me.

If he can be creating opportunities to make me fail, Why can’t i too create opportunities to ensure that i succeed in my mission.

So, never stop searching and creating opportunities.

2. Maximize every Opportunity

This is the second good thing I learnt from the devil. Thanks to a personal experience.  I almost fell into the trap of watching porn. Thanks to the devil’s plan of maximizing opportunity.

Here’s how it happened.

I stumbled upon a post (can’t remember the title) but as I was checking it out, I didn’t know that there were pop under ads and re directors on the site.

Before you know what was happening, I found myself in a catalog of junk videos. If it wasn’t for the grace and understanding I had now, I would have been caught in that web again.

What you call a mistake, the devil calls an opportunity.

Be careful what you do, the devil is watching for a little slip that will send you into his net.

After that experience, I knew the devil was out to make the most of every opportunity. Even when he knows he would fail, he would still try.

In the same vein, you too should always look for opportunity and squeeze the lemon out of every opportunity you can find.

Everyday, you have 86400 golden moments. Make use it to its fullest. Leverage every single opportunity and create more opportunities for yourself daily.

3. Never Give up

The devil never gives up.

He keeps tempting you and giving you all manner of advises that are cool on the outside but deadly on the inside. And no matter how many times you say no to him, he will continue to come.

So I decided that since the devil never gives up until you fall into sin, why should I give up in saying no to him until i leave this world.

Be devilishly persistent.

Whatever you are doing that is good never give it up. Never give up on on your prayer life, never give up that soul, never give up your joy or your love.

Instead keep pushing harder and harder until it happens.

In Conclusion:

You are created to operate beyond the realm of the devil. If the devil is working hard to bring you down, you should work harder to resist and subdue him.

Use these three tactics to go beyond every limit and live a good life of discipline, victory and success.

See you at the top.

Are you a Hit and Run Person?

Did you play this prank as a kid?

When I was little boy, we used to play a little prank on our neighbors, we would knock on their doors or ring the door bell and just when someone is coming to answer the door, we run away.

Sounds familiar?

You can do it for as many times as you want, just make sure you don’t get caught.

Well, many adults are like that. They knock on the door of success, but they won’t wait for the door to be opened before they take off.

I call them Hit and run individuals or success cowards.

Are you a Hit and Run Person? Let’s find out.

Who is a Hit and Run Person

  • I want it, but can’t work for it!

A Hit and run person is that person who wants something but is not ready to take consistent and persistent action to get that thing.

They can be really interested and desire all the benefits the goal has to offer, but they never really settle down to plan and take consistent action to make it happen. Even when they do take action, they are not always committed to taking consistent action.

After the first few tries, they give up and run to another thing,

  • Short Term or Long Term

A Hit and run person is someone who acts short term. They may desire long term results, but are not ready to go though the route of long term, instead they settle for short term.

They believe in immediate gratification and would prefer to eat their corn now than plant it.

  • They just want to be lucky

Hit and run individuals are always trying out random stuffs to see if they will hit a jackpot.

You can see them in different gamble homes, lottery palace and casino tables. They believe that perphaps one day, they will be lucky.

They would rather spend all day trying to be lucky, than engaging in active work.

  • There is always something new

They are one of those persons who are always working on a new idea, but never finishing one. If you check the to-do list of a Hit and run, they are always filled with activities that are not dated.

Hit and run individuals are always chasing the next trendy shiny object they stumble upon.

In conclusion:

If you find yourself, in any of the category, you are probable a hit and run person. And hit and run persons are success cowards.

They want success but are not bold or brave enough to go all out and get it.

It’s time for you stand up and get serious about succeeding. Say no to Hit and Run! You will succeed.

How to Get result in Your Life

Are you hungry for result? Do you need result in your life?

We are all hungry for results and not Just any result but the right kind of result.

However, two quick question you need to answer is:

  • Are you ready to get result?
  • Are you qualified to get that result you so much desire?

Let’s find out.

Result is the end product of action. As Keith Harrell puts it, “Action produces results” Without action you can’t get results if you need results, take the action that will Produce the results you need.

So, are you taking the action that will provide the result you need or are you expecting luck?

The Law of Serendipity

There is no such thing as being lucky. This reminds me of The law of serendipity which states that: Lady luck favors the one who tries.

If you and not trying out something, you can it be lucky. Only those who are courageous enough to step out and by are the ones who “get lucky”

Show me a man who gets results, and I will Show you a man who takes massive actions.” – Godwin Chibuike

No matter the kind of result you need, and no matter the area in your life where you need the result, the only thing that can produce the result you need is ACTION!

Action is the raw material that breeds results and planning is the plant that breeds action.

So, to get results, you must be ready to plan your course of action effectively and start doing whatever it takes.

How to get Results in Your life

Step 1: Determine the Result

It is important to have a clear picture of the result you want in you life.

I discovered that too many people know that they are not where they suppose to be, but they don’t even know where they want to be. No wonder why its said that clarity is 80% success. Knowing the result you want in your life is crucial to getting it.

So know where you want to end up, because you can’t get there, if you don’t know where.

Step 2: Know What it Takes

It is one thing to know where you want to end up, and it is another thing to know what it will take to get there. If you decide to buy a new Car, You will definitely take time to decide on the cost, other bills and charges that will accustom it.

This also goes for getting results. You must figure out three things:

  • Cost: The Price you must pay (Time, money, resources, energy)
  • Obstacles: The Stumbling blocks on your path
  • Challenges: The personal limitations you are having

A lot of People Want to be successful, but don’t know what it takes to become successful. Don’t be like that, know what it, takes and develop a plan to conquer.

This leads us to….

Step 3: Develop a plan

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

You must develop a plan that will serve as a road map to the result you are looking to achieve. A lot of people are not getting the result they want, because they fail to plan effectively.

Make sure that your plan is very realistic and directed towards taking action immediately.

What this means, is that don’t add hope/wish to your plan, make sure it is something that you can get started on right now.

Step 4: Talk to the Right People / Person

Before you kick of your plan, talk to someone about your plan. You can talk to any or all of the following individuals bout your plan:

  • Your Mentor
  • A Coach or Counselor
  • A Consultant
  • People who have gotten the result you want
  • Friends and Family (In some cases though)

All these are people who can help you in one way or the other.

Also, make sure that whoever you are talking to is someone who can offer helpful insight and guide as regards the result you are looking to achieve.

Step 5: Develop a W.I.T Attitude

W.I.T means Whatever it Takes.

A Whatever it takes attitude is the attitude of winners. Winners are ready to put in every effort necessary to make their goals a reality.

Are you ready to do whatever it will take to get that result as long as it is the right thing to do?

Develop a W.I.T attitude by being ready to pay the price and tell yourself that no matter what it will cost me and no matter how long it is going to take, I will get this result.

Step 6: Be Committed to Taking Action

Being committed to taking action means taking action. Create a set of daily actions you must take to bring the result you want into your life.

Now take the first and commit to taking that action every single day.

Step 7: Take Consistent Action Daily

Taking consistent action daily on your plan is a must if you want to get results. We have already seen that action is the only raw materials that can get the result you want in your life, so take consistent action daily on your plan.

With that said, It is important to note that taking consistent action daily is the most important factor that determines whether you will get the result you want or not.

In Conclusion:

Finally, It is important to note that you will not get the result you want in your life until you do the right activities that will produce the result you need.

These seven steps will help you get any kind of results you need in your life if you are willing to apply them.

Don’t just be committed to trying, be committed to winning. Let me leave you with this quote:

“Don’t be a person who dreams but never plans, don’t be the person who plans but never tries, don’t be the person who tries never persists, Be the person who does whatever it takes to make things happen so-long it is right.”  ~ Godwin Chibuike

Remember that: people celebrate action taker, take action today!

How to Set and Achieve your Goals in 7 Simple Steps

Did you know?: I am stealing an hour out of a very busy day to put this piece together. 🙂

One of the most vital skills you can have in life is the ability to set goals; and one of the best discipline you should develop is the ability to always achieve goals you have set.

Brian Tracy was right when he said that “You feel truly happy only when you are making progress step-by-step toward something that is important to you.

If you are stuck on a spot doing the same thing, you will never be happy with your life. But when you see yourself making progress, you will be happy with yourself and life in general.

However, you can’t make progress:

  • If you don’t know what you want and
  • If you do not work towards achieving it daily.

And today, I want to share with you a simple 7 step system that I use to set and achieve goals. I would like you to go through each step one by one and use it to set and achieve your desired goals.

7 Steps to Achieve your Goals

  • Step 1: Decide exactly what you want

The first step to achieving your goals is setting it. It is important to know what you want and why you want it. Sometimes what we really want is not what we need.

Take for example if your goal is to lose weight, you should ask yourself why do you want to lose weight? Is it to look more attractive or for health reasons etc. Whatever be the reason, identify the goal and the motive behind the goal.

Finally to decide exactly what you want, also determine how you will feel, and the difference it will make in your life right now when that goal becomes a reality.

Make sure that you write it down.

  • Step 2: Set a Deadline

A goal without a deadline is just a dream – Robert Herjavec

Set a deadline when you will accomplish your goal.

However, be very rational when setting deadlines. Don’t set a deadline to short and don’t set it too far. When setting a deadline for your goals, consider your resources and where you are right now and based on that, set a deadline that fits the goal.

  • Step 3: Make your Plans

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Make effective plans to achieve your goals. By taking an in-depth look at your resources, energy and time. Consider the obstacles, cost

and challenges you will likely face.

Now make a list of all the things you can literally to achieve your goals. Identify the pros and cons of each and figure out which of them you feel most comfortable with.

  • Step 4: Organize your resources

After knowing all what it will take to make your goal happen, it is important to organize your list by resources and order them in the right order.

Know which is most important and which leads to the other. Finally, don’t try to do all at once, but take it one step at time.

  • Step 5: Create a Goal Statement

Your goal setting exercise is not complete if you don’t write it down. Write down your goal and the deadline. Also provide an in-depth detail of what you will do to achieve your goal by developing a goal statement.

Here is an example below:

I am going to make $5000 by the 30th of August 2060, I intend to make the money by providing cleaning services in my neighborhood. I must clean a total of 50 houses at $100 each to make the money.

Read your goal statement aloud to yourself every morning when you wake up and every night just before going to bed.

It is a good thing to keep thinking about it before going to sleep.

  • Step 6: Take the First Few Step

The Journey of a thousand miles begins with a step.

The journey to achieving your goals does not begin in setting the goal and making plan to achieve them, instead the most important thing you need to do is to taking the step to making your goal a reality.

Sometimes, it can feel intimidating, but you just have to take that first few steps. Start working on your goals, whether you feel like it or not. That is the true test of discipline.

Be courageous enough to take the first step.

  • Step 7: Don’t stop until you get there

Be Consistently Consistent.

While you need to be courageous enough to take the first step, you must be disciplined enough to be consistent in taking action daily towards your goal.

Be committed to winning not just trying. Avoid any negative thing that will cause you to lose faith in yourself and surround yourself with the right motivation to keep you on the right track.

In Conclusion:

Remember that your progress in life is dependent on your ability to set goals and finding the discipline to achieve your set goals is most important. So here is a quick recap on the seven steps:

  • Decide exactly what you want
  • Set a Deadline
  • Plan effectively
  • Organize your resources
  • Create a Goal Statement
  • Take the First Few Step
  • Don’t stop until you get there

So, what are you waiting for? Go and make your goals a reality.

Don’t See Tomorrow in Yesterday

Hello Friend! How are you doing?

As someone who loves networking and discussing ideas with people, there is something i noticed, let me call it a common trait i found in too many people.

This trait has held many back and it is still holding a lot of people back. I was quick to deal with early enough in my life. After dealing with it, I was able to do things differently and get different results.

Do you know what that trait is?

It is looking back at yesterday to predict tomorrow.

A number of people will easily tell you why they can’t succeed today because of yesterday.

How many times have you heard phrases like:

  • That has never happened before
  • It can’t work because I tried it before and it didn’t work
  • I wish this week can be like last week
  • His father is thief, he is no difference
  • I want to restore the former glory of our family
  • (Add your own)

A lot of people tend to think that what has happened in the past will continue to happen to them for the rest of their life. And that is why they can’t let go of their past.

If you want to succeed in life, you must let go of your past failures and mistakes and focus on the opportunities of success around you and milestones you must accomplish.

To do this, you need to do three things:

  • Don’t wear yesterday’s garment today

A lot of people are stuck in life because they can’t seem to put off the garment of their past.

Do you put on the same clothes each day? definitely no. So why should you wear the garments of yesterday, tomorrow and even for a whole month?

What are the garments of yesterday?

Garments of yesterday are moods, worries, excitements, experiences and occurrences that can be negative or positive. A lot of people have been crippled by yesterday’s failure or success that they don’t do anything with today.

All they do is talk about yesterday how they failed or how they achieve some great feat.

Fold yesterday’s garment with yesterday. And wear a new garment today.

Don’t let your day be ruined by events that are long gone and forgotten, focus on what is ahead of you and make the most of the short time you have today.

  • You must stop seeing your future in your past.

A Lot of people see their future in their past. How do people see their future in their past?

They believe that the future holds nothing for them, because missed out on some opportunity yesterday. People who see their future in their past tends to always recall their missed opportunities and how it could have changed their lives today.

They live today worrying about an opportunity that is long, long lost. This is why you here phrases like:

  • If only…
  • I Wish I had…
  • If (that event) had happen like this

Sounds familiar?

Dear friend It’s not too late to start again. You can and will even get better opportunities today. But you must rise up and face today. SO to yourself, I know that I missed this opportunity once and I really hate myself for missing it, but never again will such occur.

From henceforth, stop allowing the past opportunities be a stumbling block to all the great things you can achieve today.

  • You must stop judging the future based on yesterday.

This is the most common trait i noticed. A lot of people are always judging the future based on yesterday. They look back at their yesterday failure or success to predict today.

My Dear Friend, You are not your past. Stop allowing your past interfere with your future.

  • Because you make $1 Million today doesn’t mean you can’t and shouldn’t make $10 million tomorrow.
  • You failed at it yesterday doesn’t mean you will fail today.
  • That you are poor today, doesn’t mean you will be poor tomorrow

So, I want you to look beyond your failures and stagnancy and make plans to rise to the top. Remember that everyday has enough troubles of its own,. why add more to it from the past?

Take a bold step into the world of unlimited possibilities and wake up everyday with vigor, enthusiasm and focus.

Every new day contains 86400 magic moments. Make those moments count!

Rise up today with an armor courage, and be thankful for yesterday’s achievement but don’t let it limit your thinking, make today better than yesterday. See a bigger picture and forget about the former.

Be grateful too for yesterday’s failures and mistakes, don’t let it  cause you to become afraid of doing what you ought to do. Learn the lessons and throw away the sentiments and approach today with a new eye of hope.

This is your life, and it is ending one moment at a time, live it to its fullest.

You’ve got what it takes.

My Special Weapon of Transformation (RSA)

I am on a mission to touch the lives of anyone and everyone I meet; and this led me to look for “big” things I could do to benefit the person next to me.

I thought long and hard about what to do to touch the lives of everyone I meet, but can’t think up something great to do every time for everyone.

One day, I stumbled on a little quote:

Everyone thinks about changing the world, but no one thinks about changing himself
~ Leo Tolstoy

I decided to make it a life long mission to change myself by doing things that will ensure that I’m constantly at my best, because when I’m at my best, I am helping the people around me.

We have been made to think that it is the big things that matters most, when in the real sense, it is the little things we neglect that matters most.

When I learnt this, I stopped searching for big things to do for everyone and started looking for simple things I can do to help the person next to me. And this gave birth to my Secret Weapon of Transformation the RSA.

Introducing R.S.A

RSA Stands for:

  • R – Risus
  • S – Servite
  • A – Agnosco

What does it mean?

The three words are from Latin and they stand for smile, service and appreciation.

How does it Work?

Risus:

Risus is the Latin word for smile. It is the first weapon of transformation.

Nothing beats arming yourself with a smile, and one bright smile from someone next to you, can turn your whole day around.

Little wonder why Anthony J. D’Angelo said that: Smile, is the key that fits the lock of everybody’s heart.”

With a simple smile, you can bring happiness to someone dejected and tired of life and with a kind smile, people who had lost hope, has found the hope to live on.

“Use your smile to change the world, don’t let the world change your smile.” – Unknown

Servite:

Servite is the Latin word for service. It is a privilege to serve and to be served.

One of my most respected leaders Mahatma Ghandi said that “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

This led me to always look for simple acts of service I can do to help the other person.

Simple service like picking an object off the floor, helping someone lift a little load etc. can make huge differences.

This doesn’t mean that when you can do more for others, you shouldn’t do it. The ultimate key here is to give yourself away in the service of others.

Always look for an opportunity and be caring enough to lend a helping hand to the person next to you.

Agnosco:

OMG this is my favourite weapon of transformation.

This is the latin word for appreciation. Always show appreciation and gratitude to everyone with a kind word and a little prayer of blessing.

I believe that I’m privileged to have that person around me and this is why this weapon is all about saying the right words to the person next to you.

Say kinds words to anyone next to you even when they are mean to you. I believe that one little act will make a huge difference. Words like:

  • Thank you
  • God Bless you
  • Well Done
  • Have a Nice Day
  • You are amazing

or simple words of encouragement can go a long way in people’s life.

Don’t flatter anybody, and always use the kind words to convey your message. When you are angry or you are getting pissed off by someone, don’t say anything and if you can walk away, if you can’t wear a simple smile.

What is Secret about it?

Nothing really, except that it’s simplicity has been overlooked and nobody cares about it anymore. Secondly, I believe that with this weapon, I can transform the world and you can too.

The 3 Tricks of Opportunity and How to Uncover it

Let me begin with a quick story about opportunity:

A young man wished to marry the farmer’s beautiful daughter. He went to the farmer to ask his permission.

The farmer looked at him and said, “Son, go stand out in that field. I’m going to release three bulls, one at a time. If you can catch the tail of any one of the three bulls, you can marry my daughter.”

The young man stood in the field awaiting the first bull.

The barn door opened and out came the biggest, meanest looking bull he had ever seen. He decided that one of the next bulls had to be a better choice than this one, so he ran over to the side and let the bull pass through.

The barn door opened again.

Unbelievable. He had never seen anything so big and fierce in his life. It stood pawing the ground, it eyed him. Whatever the next bull was like, it had to be a better choice than this one he thought. He ran to the fence and let the bull pass through.

The door opened a third time.

A smile came across his face. This was the weakest bull he had ever seen. This one was his bull, he said to himself.

As the bull came running by, he positioned himself just right and jumped at just the exact moment. He threw his hands to grab the tail…..

But alas…..  The bull had no tail.”

(SOURCE: Wattpad )

We are all looking and waiting for the right opportunities. Let’s name it:

  • The right opportunity to start that business
  • The opportunity to quit that job
  • The “perfect” opportunity to propose or ask her out
  • (Add your Own)

However, it is a pity that many times, when the so called opportunity comes, we fizzle out and fail to either recognize it, or we miss it completely.

The reason why this happens frequently is because opportunity is playing a trick on us.

In-fact the major reason why we miss opportunity is not because we are just too blind, or because we are not looking hard enough, but because there is a trick that opportunity plays on us, and this trick has made us to either

  • Fail to recognize
  • or to miss it completely.

Let’s talk about the 3 tricks of opportunity and let me show you how you can overcome it and discover more opportunities.

The 3 Tricks of Opportunity

  • Trick #1: Opportunity appears in a Completely Different form

The first trick of opportunity is appearing in a completely different form than we know or expect. Sometimes, it comes glowing and striking the way you want it, but almost all the time it comes in forms you don’t expect and is found in unusual places where you least expect them to be.

I remember the first time

So watch out, and always look for opportunities, you don’t know the form it’s going to take.

  • Trick #2: It Comes Through the Backdoor

Many times, we expect opportunity to come to our front door knocking, smiling and saying “I’m Opportunity, grab me.” However, what we fail to realize is that apart from appearing in a completely different form, it usually enters through the backdoor.

It will come from people you don’t expect, from deals you are not taking serious, from sources you think are not qualified or good enough.

This is why a man who seeks opportunity must watch every door closely. You never know where it will enter through.

  • It is disguised as Misfortune or Temporary Defeat

Now finally, apart from opportunity coming in a completely different form and entering through the backdoor, it will enter as temporary defeat or misfortune.

Thomas Edison the great inventor lost around seven million dollars in damages after his lab (West Orange Laboratory) caught flames after an explosion in the film inspection building. But he vowed to start again and not only that but in the midst of all the chaos, noticed a problem and within two days after the fire he finalized design of a portable searchlight whose three million candlepower beam would be visible for miles.

There is always a silver lining in every dark cloud.

So, remember that your challenges and problems are opportunities in disguise. If you scale through them, you gain the badge of success.

In Conclusion:

It is important that you understand that opportunities don’t happen, you create them.

So, stop sitting around waiting and hoping for opportunities, instead get up and create your opportunity from those problems, misfortunes and temporary defeat.

Start looking for the silver lining in every dark clouds and instead of seeing obstacles, see opportunities instead of seeing challenges, see chances to make a difference.

Remember that: No matter how many times you have failed in the past, you can start again. As Henry Ford said: “failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time, more intelligently.

Rise up and Start again! This time more Intelligently!
